Please forgive me for not writing sooner; the time just got away from me. I wanted to thank you, your husband, Bill and your staff for making my Aunt’s 90th birthday party so memorable. From the surprise ( and she really was surprised) to the dinner and service, we can not praise you enough. There is not one thing that I would have changed that day. There is a saying that my Aunt’s husband would say when he enjoyed a restaurant that he had frequented;” The food was delicious and the service was superb”!!!! Thank you again for a wonderful day. Thank you for making Gary’s 75th Suprise Birthday lunch party for sixeen guests outstanding event. Everything went as planned, and your expertise and efficency were invaluable throughout, especially during the planning phase.
Chef Alam El Din, as usual, came up with a stunning selection of hors d’oeuvres, a perfect salad, succulent entrees and, in additon to the birthday cake dessert, a perfectly stunning compote of roasted fruits. I must make mention of the Artichoke risotto with Grilled Vegetables. It was, of course, delicious, as is everything at PlumbushInn… but in addition, the presentation was a work of art. We were all very impressed. I’m sorry no one thought to photograph it for our scrap book.
Though the day was exceeding warm (“hot” would not be an exaggertion), we were all quite comfortable in the lovely Garden Room. Our guests were charme by the grounds in full bloom, and the lovely house tself. Many have pledged to return. We took a 15-minute break between lunch and dessert for a leisurely stroll through the gardens enjoying the gentle breeze that weemed to spring up just to cool us.
I would be remiss if I didn ‘t mention the excellent serving staff. Lunc was served perfectly, and our waiter was never intrusive but always there if anything was needed. He even joined in singing ‘Happy Birthday.”
